Ok well as im sure a lot of you know i'm a hockey fan and you may also know that there was an NHL game being held in the O2 arena in Londons docklands at the weekend (the millenium dome to us brits
How lucky we were then to pick up the late release of tickets for the game on sunday. Due to this last minute change of plans the trains were double the usual price and we could only get there by coach. So early last saturday morning we spent 3 hours on a packed coach travelling down from Nottingham to London, not fun.
When we arrived being the organised people we are, without a map or any idea where our hotel was we hoped into a black cab and made our way the whole way across the city. obviously it cost us a fortune. So we arrive at the hotel and walk in and imediatly feel out of place when the guy at reception starts calling me "sir" i mean come on i was wearing a hockey jersey and jeans and everyone else was wearing a suit!
But anyway we headed off to the London Eye (photos to follow) and after that went to the star wars exhibition (well we couldnt not go now could we?) We managed to waste alot of time in there so we did a whirlwind tour on foot around the other big sites: The houses of parliment, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace where funny enough there were two storm troopers fighting :S, Trafalger Square and Nelsons Column before heading into harrods, seeing the price tags and turning round.
Sunday morning we wake up about an hour after checkout time and head off to Her Majestys Royal Palace and Fortress The Tower of London where we got a guided tour by one of the Yeoman Guard or Beefeaters which i recomend to anyone who pays a visit to London. A quick photo by tower bridge before making it back to the docklands and the 02 to see the LA Kings play the Anaheim Ducks, Stanley Cup champions from the front row.
As we arived into the arena we saw a big crowd in the centre thinking it was a bloke selling programs we made our way to the centre to find the Cup it self and well i was gobsmacked and stood there doing sod all for about 10 minutes before i got the camera out nothing artistic im affraid just snapshots but wow! This thing was amazing and i was inches from it easy highlight of the weekend.
Won't go into detail but Ducks won 4-1 so everything was good there.
So back on a coach home which was made interesting by the headcase who was randomly shouting stuff and well being a nutter in general till he got kicked off in Milton Keynes.
On Thursday of this week i had my second photography lesson at college and its all going well at the moment so you should see some new ideas creeping in to my deviations sooner rather then later. We spent a whole 3 hours doing photograms in the dark room and oh my god my eyes hurt like hell when i came out!
Oh and i got a subscription today
Well here is my first feature and its the work of my good friend king penguin!

I have good reason to hate Philly though--one of their idiots tried to kill my favorite player 10 games into the season. Knocked him unconscious against the boards and the poor bastard hasn't played since
Ah, Photoshop--it's a beautiful thing!
